Grapple Gun: Concept Design to Game Asset

The grapple gun was the hero prop for our extraction looter game, so cool factor was a priority! Its design conveys a working man aesthetic, a robust collection and traversal tool (and in a pinch, a makeshift weapon) that can take a beating and keep on going.

I took this design from concept to in-game asset, including high and low poly modeling, UV unwrapping, and texturing in Substance Painter. I also concepted the model's animation and visual effects, which were implemented by Forest San Filippo. I also enjoyed working with our audio team to design its sound effects!
